Journal:
Chem. Phys. Lett.
Volume:
333
Page(s):
63 - 68
Year:
2001
Reference type:
Journal article
Squib:
2001YUJ/MEL63-68
Reaction:
n-C3H7OH + ·OH → Products
Reaction order:
2
Temperature:
298
K
Pressure: 4.00E-2 - 0.40 bar
Rate expression:
5.83x10-12 [±1.8x10-13 cm3/molecule s]
Category: Experiment
Data type:
Absolute value measured directly
Pressure dependence:
Rate constant is pressure independent
Experimental procedure:
Static or low flow - Data taken vs time
Excitation technique:
Flash photolysis (laser or conventional)
Time resolution:
In real time
Analytical technique:
Laser induced fluorescence
Comments:
OH was generated by photolysis of H2O2 at 248 nm.
The reaction mechanism is abstraction of H with the primary channels estimated by the authors using a Structure Reactivity Relationship (SAR):
OH + CH3CH2CH2OH -> H2O + CH3CH2CHOH (73%)
OH + CH3CH2CH2OH -> H2O + CH3CHCH2OH (21%)
Uncertainties are 2 standard deviations from the least squares analysis plus an estimated systematic uncertaintiy of 5%.
