Title: State-to-state dynamics of the Cl + CH3OH -> HCl + CH2OH reaction Journal: J. Chem. Phys. Volume: 120 Page(s): 4231 - 4239 Year: 2004 Reference type: Journal article Squib: 2004BEC/CAM4231-4239
Reaction:
CH3OH + Cl → (·)CH2OH + HCl The authors describe an experimental dynamics study of the reaction at energies of 1960 +/-170 cm-1 (~0.24 +/- 0.02 eV). They report rovibrational state distributions of the HCl product obtained using REMPI and suggest that the details of the abstraction mechanism vary with the impact parameter. In all cases, the reaction of fast Cl atoms with CH3OH is with the hydrogen atoms on the methyl group, not the hydrogen on the hydroxyl group. View full bibliographic record. |
