Title:   Characterization of the Unimolecular Water Elimination Reaction from 1-Propanol, 3,3,3-Propan-1-ol-d(3), 3,3,3-Trifluoropropan-1-ol, and 3-Chloropropan-1-ol
Journal:   J. Phys. Chem. A
Volume:   113
Page(s):   10013 - 10023
Year:   2009
Reference type:   Journal article
Squib:   2009FER/PAR10013-10023

Reaction:   ·CCl3 + HOCH2CH2· → CH2=CHCCl3 + H2O
Reaction order:   2
Reference reaction:   ·CCl3 + HOCH2CH2· → CCl3CH2CH2OH
Reference reaction order:   2
Temperature:   298 K
Pressure:  1.33E-3 - 4.40E-2 bar
Rate expression:   no rate data available
Category:  Experiment
Data type:   Relative rate value measured
Pressure dependence:   Rate constant is pressure dependent
Experimental procedure:   Static or low flow - Data taken vs time
Excitation technique:   Direct photolysis
Time resolution:   By end product analysis
Analytical technique:   GC-MS
Comments:   Decomposition to stabilization ratio in this chemically activated reaction was studied as a function of pressure at room temperature. The pressure range is approximate. No thermal rate constants were reported. Instead, an effective decomposition rate constant at the energy of the excitated adduct was obtained.
