Data type:
Transition state theory
Comments:
The article demostrates that in a ROO + NO -> RO + NO2 reaction (where R = sec-C4H9) a significant fraction of the 2-butoxy radical is formed in a chemically activated state, which decomposes on a sub-nansecond scale. This fraction of butoxy radicals are thus removed from a competition with bimolecular reactions (e.g., with O2), with cosequences for the overall kinetics of observable experimental systems.
