Reaction:
Phenyl + Phenyl → Benzene + Benzyne
Reaction order:
2
Temperature:
1230 - 1530
K
Pressure: 1.00 bar
Rate expression:
no rate data available
Category: Experiment
Data type:
Mechanistic information only

Mass spectrometry
Comments:
The occurrence of significant amounts of benzene as well as the presence of biphenylene besides biphenyl was detected. These results indicate that the dominating fate of the phenyl radicals is not only recombination but also disproportionation.
