Comments:
The 1-buten-2-yl radical was produced by 193-nm photolysis of 2-bromo-1-butene under collisionless conditions. The energetic onset of each dissociation channel was determed: radicals with at least 30.7±2 kcal/mol internal energy dissociated by C-C fission to form allene and methyl radical; those with 36.7±4 kcal/mol underwent C-H fission to form H + 1-butene and H + 1,2-butadiene.
