Comments:   Mainly an experimental study with some DFT (B3LYP/6-311+G(2d,p)) quantum calculations to help in understanding detailed reaction kinetics. Fe produced by laser ablation and detected by LIFT at 248.3 nm. FeOx species produced by reactions of Fe and other FeOx species with NO2 or O2. O and H atoms produced by reactions in a microwave discharge and detected through titration with NO2. Rate expressions extract from model of concentration profiles using other known reaction rates. Total pressure typically 1.5 torr N2.
