Author(s):   Greenslade, M.E.; Tsiouris, M.; Bonn, R.T.; Lester, M.I.
Title:   Electronic Spectroscopy of the OH-CO Reactant Complex
Journal:   Chem. Phys. Lett.
Volume:   354
Page(s):   203 - 209
Year:   2002
Reference type:   Journal article
Squib:   2002GRE/TSI203-209

Reaction:   CO + ·OH → [OH...CO] complex
Reaction order:   2
Rate expression:   no rate data available
Category:  Other
Data type:   Other
Experimental procedure:   Molecular beam
Analytical technique:   Laser induced fluorescence
Comments:   A broad and relatively unstructured electronic excitation spectrum was observed for the [OH..CO] reactant complex in the OH A? (1,0) region by laser-induced fluorescence and fluorescence depletion methods. The electronic spectrum spans from 33,500 to 36,050 cm-1 and peaks near 34,600 cm-1. The electronic spectrum is consistent with a Franck?ondon mapping of the ground state radial distribution on a strongly attractive excited state potential that undergoes rapid decay dynamics.
