Comments:   Bath gases used were argon and CF4. No dependence of the rate constant on the bath gas or pressure (over 1.3-6.2 torr) was found.

Uncertainties include both random and systematic errors.

NCO and Cl atoms were created by laser flash photolysis of ClNCO at 248 nm. The reaction was monitored by following the real time decays of the NCO signal with infrared absorption spectroscopy of the rotational transitions of the NCO(1011) to (0010) combination band. Rate constants were determined using a simple chemical model and minimizing the residuals between the modeled and experimental NCO concentration profiles.
