Comments:   ClO2 was produced by the reaction of Cl and O2 with Cl radicals generated by the laser photolysis of Cl2 at 355 nm. Decays of ClOO in the presence of excess NO were followed by absorption at 266 nm using a cavity ring down spectroscopy (CRDS) set-up. A 10 step reaction mechanism was used to model the decay rates and extract the rate constant for the studied reaction.

The authors conclude there is no discernible effect of temperature on the reaction rate between 205 K and 243 K.
