Comments:   The thermal decomposition of n-propyl iodide and the CD3CD2CH2I isotopomer was studied using flash pyrolysis by supersonic expansion. The reactor pressure is not reported; the backing pressure is 1.5 atm. The C-I bond fission is found to dominate compared with the molecular elimination pathway. No rate constants are reported.
